"The lack of quality education and healthcare facilities in Uttarakhand has become one of the major reasons for migration from the hills. Many families are moving to the plains to provide better education for their children. If quality education is made available within the villages themselves, people can educate their children locally, reducing migration and helping our villages remain vibrant and populated."

The Raibasi Foundation and Computer Guru Training Institute, based in Rishikesh, have initiated an important project to transform the primary school in Dharkot village into a Smart School. The initiative has also received strong support and cooperation from the local community. This valuable step taken by the residents of Dharkot has the potential to significantly improve the future of the village's children.

Through this initiative, the Raibasi Foundation and Computer Guru Training Institute are introducing a new dimension to primary education by integrating digital learning methods. Smart classrooms equipped with computers, televisions, and audio-visual educational content have been launched to enhance the learning experience. The objective is to provide rural students with educational opportunities comparable to those available in urban areas.

The successful implementation of this project was made possible through the leadership and continuous efforts of Mr. Belam Singh Negi, along with the support and permission of the school teachers. Mr. Satendra Rawat generously donated a 43-inch television to the school, while the Raibasi Foundation and Computer Guru Training Institute provided educational websites, audio-visual course materials, and other necessary software to establish the smart classroom. The wholehearted contribution of the villagers played a vital role in bringing this initiative to life.

If similar smart classrooms are introduced in primary schools across different regions, children will develop a greater interest in learning and will be able to acquire knowledge through engaging and interactive methods. Such initiatives can accelerate their mental development and expose them to a wider range of information and opportunities.

Today, most primary schools in Uttarakhand have computers, yet many of these resources remain underutilized. In the case of the Dharkot school, the computer had been installed for nearly a year but had not been used effectively until this initiative was launched.
